Ferris Brown, who serves as executive director for the Cascade Locks Park Association, revealed that it would cost approximately $100,000 to build the zip line. The association, which is a nonprofit organization, is looking for financial backers to support the plan. Brown explained:
“The zip-line attraction along the canal would provide a new way for the grass-roots group to raise needed funds and also attract visitors to the park and its canal-era Mustill Store.”
Attractions such as the proposed zip line in Akron help draw tourists to the area, thus creating extra business for area retailers and shops. In an effort to attract these tourists to their stores, business owners are likely to use the printing services of local Print companies. They may use flyer printing, banner printing, or a variety of other advertising methods to draw in the extra consumers in the area.
Brown reported that a number of details about the proposed zip line still need to be worked out. If plans for the attraction move forward, the zip line at Cascade Locks Park would be the second in Summit County. A small zip line is located in Copley Township at the Akron Fossils & Science Center.
