What's Happening in Akron, OH…

Summer programs for 2022 revealed by Parks and Recreation

Akron’s division of Parks and Recreation will be offering a number of free and low-cost programs this summer.

A news release from Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan explains:

“Whether you’re looking to cool off in a city pool, enjoy some live music, or bring your kids to camp, Recreation and Parks has something for you. These no-cost and low-cost programming options are so important to our residents….”

A flyer printing service can be helpful in providing information to residents about special events or services a community offers.

Most community centers in Akron will offer youth summer camps that offer daylong care and run from weeklong themed camps at a cost of $40, to a $250 eight-week camp.

Beginning June 6, Akron’s public pools will open and stay open through August 20. There is no cost for residents at either the Reservoir Park pool at 1735 Hillside Terrance or at the Perkins Park pool at 899 Diagonal Road, although visitors are asked to register for their no-cost open swim membership. Children younger than 12 years old must have an accompanying adult. The pools are open 1:00 to 7:00 pm Mondays to Fridays and 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturdays.

Every weeknight from June 6 to July 1 and July 5 to August 5, a Concert in the Park will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at a selected park in Akron.
