May the Fourth be with you at Akron weddings
Come Star Wars Day, no less of a force than Ron Cable, Presiding and Administrative Judge for the Akron Municipal Court, will be officiating at weddings featuring a Star Wars’ theme.
The ceremonies will take place at the Highland Square Theatre, not in a galaxy far, far away, but right here in Akron from 10:00 am until noon.
As many may be aware, May 4, is unofficially, yet internationally known as Star Wars Day, due to its similarity in sound to one of the movie franchise’s catchphrases - “May the force be with you.”
Among the products print shops provide are invitations and announcements.
The venue is an appropriate one. Located at 826 W. Market Street, the Highland Theatre is an anchor business for the eclectic neighborhood of bars, restaurants, and shops. It was established in 1938 and has a seating compacity of 600.
Appointments must be made and paid for in advance and are on a first-come, first served basis. Additional timeslots will not be added once the schedule is full
Couples must obtain a marriage license via the Summit County Probate Court prior to the ceremony. The fee for those who reside in the court’s jurisdiction is $25, or $40 for those outside the jurisdiction, and must be paid in cash between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
Star Wars and other costume attire may be worn by those who choose to do so.
