Family-friendly scary scheduled at Akron Zoo

The Akron Zoo will be hosting “Boo at the Zoo” a non-scary special event over three weekends in October.

Suitable for all family members the event includes a variety of themed areas scattered around the zoo, among which will be the Enchanted Candy Trail, where youngsters can trick- or-treat; the Witch’s Lair; Halloween Town and the latest addition Día de los Muertos.

Large venues work best when a banner printing service is employed to help provide direction.

Included in the entertainment will be a monster show as well as games, a meet and greet with the characters and Enchanted Candy Trail trick-or-treating.

Halloween costumes are welcome for children and adults alike; although, adults will not be allowed to have their faces covered with face paint, masks or mascot heads.

Acme Fresh Market is the sponsor for Boo at the Zoo, which takes place the following weekends October 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25, 11 am to 7 pm. An event within an event, ZoothingBoo will be held at 10 am on October 24 for those preferring a quieter trick-or-treat experience prior to the zoo's regular hours.

Tickets for treaters will be $16 to $20 and while tickets for observation by zoo members is free, non-member observers will be charged $13 to $17. Infants less than two years of age that will not be trick-or-treating will be admitted for free.
