Akron to host polymer conference
The Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce – in conjunction with the Polymer Industry Cluster – has announced a major conference around the polymer industry.
This event is designed to showcase the promise and potential of polymer materials for the entire Akron business community, as well as give local businesses a chance to see how they can benefit from this economic sector.
Businesses interested in learning more about polymers will have a chance to find out about potential entry points into this sector, which includes the production of a variety of goods, including rubber, plastic, and chemical products.
The event will take place on Thursday, August 1, starting at 7:00 AM and running until 11:00 AM. Doors for the event open at 7:00 AM, with a breakfast and networking open to attendees. The program and opening remarks begin at 8:00 AM, with four sessions available to attendees, starting at 9:00 AM. These sessions cover workforce and startup support, commercialization, research and redevelopment, and business-to-business connections. Each session will provide an overview of the various sectors of the polymer industry and is designed to give attendees the chance to learn more about these sectors and how they may participate.
Interested individuals should bring business cards and be prepared to learn more about the industry.
This is the second year of the conference, and its continued growth reflects the importance of this industry to Akron.
