Akron to hold rally racing event
Early next month, the International Soap Box Derby will be hosting the Portage County 2021 May Race in Akron.
Four different race divisions will be available at the rally, including single elimination and double races. The entry fee for single races is priced at $30 per car, while the fee for the double costs $35. For drivers who will be participating in all four races, registration is priced at $100.
Those who wish to compete in the Portage County Race are encouraged to pre-register to avoid gathering in crowds for onsite registration on the morning of the event. Participants from Akron can register in advance by printing and filling out a registration form. When creating copies of digital forms, individuals who wish to sign up for similar events often visit community print shops to produce printed copies of sign-up papers in order to submit them by traditional mail.
Health precautions will be in place for all attendees and participants at the event to combat COVID-19 risks. All spectators must wear facemasks, practice social distancing, and regularly use hand sanitizer. Drivers must also follow these guidelines, except for when they are in their cars.
