What's Happening in Akron, OH…

Akron RubberDucks home stand more than just baseball

The Akron RubberDucks will be home for seven straight nights starting August 19 as the team heads into the home stretch of what’s been a difficult 2019 baseball season.

The RubberDucks have been cellar-dwellers of the Western Division of the Eastern League, but despite the club’s losing record there will still plenty of family-friendly activities going on at Canal Park on game nights.

The RubberDucks will begin the home stand with three games versus the Harrisburg Senators. These games will have themes such as “Austin Powers Night” on August 23, and fans can bring their dogs to the game on August 24.

Fireworks will light up the sky after games on August 22, 23, and 24th, when Akron plays the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

The game on Saturday August 23 will also feature a tribute to the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” album.

Family nights at the ballpark are great opportunities for businesses and sponsors to promote themselves with promotional products and corporate gifts.

All game times are 7:05 p.m., while Sunday’s game is a matinee at 2:05 p.m.

Fans can buy tickets online or at the Canal Park box office. The RubberDucks - the minor league affiliate team of the Cleveland Indians - will play their final regular season home game September 2.

Canal Park is located at 300 Main Street South in downtown Akron.
