Akron market showcases local artists
A holiday market that puts local artists in the spotlight will be opening in downtown Akron this season, with a socially distanced approach.
Market on Market: Holiday Edition will be full of local vendors selling homemade gifts and crafts in time for the Christmas season.
It takes place at the Summit Artspace on East Market, an art studio and gallery space. The event promises pop-up vendors along with open studios and galleries on its three floors. Resident studios and galleries are not obligated to be open for the event, but many are expected to open their doors.
While tickets are not a necessity, event organizers strongly urge residents to go online and register for a free, timed ticket. It will allow organizers to control the number of people in the building at any one time.
Summit Art Space is a non-profit organization committed to giving local artists space, support, and the connections they need to survive and thrive creatively and professionally. Vendors at events such as this one should have business cards and brochures on hand to give out to shoppers and art lovers.
