Akron library to host job readiness program

Local library officials in Akron, Ohio have announced their new plans to host job readiness programs as part of an effort to ensure that Akron residents have the skills to gain employment in the area. Their upcoming job readiness series will also teach residents how to use Microsoft Excel.

There are six courses in this series, which begins on July 2 and will be held once a week until August 6. The series runs the gamut of available courses. The first course will teach basics in Excel. This includes opening, creating, formatting and modifying workbooks. It will also teach addition functions, including printing, sorting, filtering, and more.

Later courses will teach additional beginner skills before moving on to intermediate and advanced topics, which will include creating advanced formulas and using power queries.

Akron, Ohio residents who are interested in upgrading their job skills should consider registering for these classes. Residents are also encouraged to check out the various offerings at the Akron library, pick up promotional products, and learn about other free resources that can help them find gainful employment.

Registration is required for any of these six classes, and registration opens on June 10. The first class - Excel Basics Level 1 - starts on Tuesday, July 2. It takes place at the Akron Main Library, located at 60 S. High Street, in Akron.
