Akron leaf removal scheduled to start
A sure sign that another Ohio winter is just around the corner, the City of Akron will soon begin its residential leaf pickup program.
Signs will be going up in Akron neighborhoods to inform residents of the pickup dates. Print shops can be useful for civic programs such as these, as effective signage can be created using professional flyer printing or poster printing services.
Residents are reminded to wait until the day before their pickup before raking leaves into the street. Bags are not necessary. If leaves are not on the street they will not get removed.
Residents who miss the pickup or would like another pickup this fall can take advantage of Akron's three annual free curb service bulk pickups. In these cases, the leaves must be in bags for pickup.
The City of Akron offers residents these tips to make the leaf removal program safe and effective:
Crews will be hitting streets starting November 4 in Ward 3. The full leaf removal schedule is on the City of Akron's website.
Each ward will take more than one day to finish, and bad weather can impact the scheduling so residents are asked to look for the signs posted in their neighborhoods.
