Akron Area Arts Alliance marks 20th anniversary in style
The Akron Area Arts Alliance (AAAA) marked its 20th anniversary at the 6th Annual Arts Alive! Awards Ceremony on Sunday, November 20. Every two years, the alliance, founded on October 22, 1991, gathers to honor and celebrate artistic individuals who help enrich the lives of others through their participation in cultural and artistic activities and events in and around the Akron area. This year’s celebration was held at the Stage Door, located at EJ Thomas Hall. Special events included dinner, entertainment, and a silent auction.
Events such as the Arts Alive! Awards and other celebrations in and around the Akron area benefit greatly through the use of local printing companies to provide all of their flyer printing, ticket printing, and banner printing needs. Print companies can offer a variety of services and creative concepts to help make every honorary event a truly special occasion. Print companies can also handle documents such as nomination forms, programs, and brochure printing for events that require these types of forms.
The Arts Alive! Awards were founded in November 2001 as a way to shine the spotlight on those who add a bit of sensational sparkle to the community. This year’s honorees included Phyllis Jean “P.J.” Rogers, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the County of Summit 9/11 Remembrance Art Project, who were honored with the Collaboration Award. Others receiving awards were Mia Klinger, Amy Barlowe Bodman, James Slowiak, Barbara Gillette, Josh Rzepka, Benjamin Rexroad, James Horvath, Roe Green, the Tuesday Musical Association, PNC Bank of Akron, and Patty Wyman.
