What's Happening in Rochester, NY…

Top-speed event to let kids design their own racecars

The Hot Wheels: Race to Win exhibit is coming to Rochester next month, and will run until April.

This is a travelling exhibition that has been created by the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.

Everyone will enter the exhibit through a garage and will be asked to work in teams to build, test, and race Hot Wheels cars. There will be four zones that they must work through: the blue zone will teach participants about design; the yellow zone will be about adding engines and how they work; the green zone will be about speed and how important it is; and the red zone will teach about safety on the racetrack. Throughout it all, children will learn about the scientific process in creating a racecar using Hot Wheels vehicles and tracks.

This event should appeal to many families in the Rochester area. To advertise, organizers may decide to use direct mail printing services to help get the word out in the community.

The Hot Wheels: Race to Win is taking place at the Strong Museum from February 6 to April 24. The museum is open seven days a week. Admission is $14 or $9 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. To get the latest information about this exhibition, contact the museum at 585-263-2700.
