Rochester offers opportunity for bonsai beginners

Cultivating a bonsai tree can take many years, and a Rochester activity will help those who are interested get started at creating one of their own.

Bonsai is a practice from Japan that combines art with horticulture and mindfulness, and the Bonsai Bar, which will be setting up shop at Boulder Coffee Co. Cafe and Lounge, will provide an introduction to the techniques used. It is intended to be a fun experience, and it will run for two hours.

The participants will find out how pruning and wiring can shape their tree, and many bonsai plantings can be decades old. Everyone interested can attend with their friends or significant other, and everyone will gain hands-on experience with a plant they can take home at the end of the session. The species chosen has been selected because of its hardiness, and tips for keeping them alive and thriving will be shared. Tickets for the activity are $85.00 each.

Paint and sips, plant and sips and similar activities have become increasingly popular in recent years. They may require specialized printing services , and a local Print professional will be happy to work with organizers of these learning events.

This chance for Rochester plant fans to begin a bonsai will be on offer on March 20th and it will begin at 6:00 pm. Boulder Coffee Co. Cafe and Lounge is located at 100 Alexander Street.
