Those who call Rochester home are asked to lace up their sneakers for a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) activity that will hit the road in support of mental health awareness.
Community members are encouraged to sign up for NAMIWalks Rochester 2026 on their own or as part of a team of friends, colleagues, or family members. This is the signature fundraiser for the organization's Rochester branch.
The day will begin with registration followed by an opening ceremony, after which the walkers will take to their route. A goal of raising $120,000 has been set and the organizers are hoping to meet or even exceed that amount. A set of tools has been prepared to make it easier for the participants to register and fundraise, and to thank them for their efforts, several Promotional Products are being distributed.
Those registrants who donate or raise $100 or more will receive the official 2026 event T-shirt to wear on the day and keep. Those who go the extra mile and contribute or collect $1,000 or more will receive their Walk Star 2026 commemorative pin.
Rochester will be doing its part to support good mental health when it hosts the NAMIWalk set for Saturday, October 3. The walkers will depart from Asbury First United Methodist Church, and check-in will start at 9:00 am.
