September event highlights local food while raising funds
The Festival of Food is taking place in Rochester next month. It is a fundraising event for Foodlink.
Over 100 local restaurants, bakeries, farms, wineries, and breweries will be on hand to provide samples of their wares for the public to try. The food and drink providers will be competing for the Best Taste award in categories such as best restaurant, alcoholic beverage, bakery/dessert, and best specialty food.
Guests will have the chance to enjoy unlimited samples of food and drink while they listen to the music of The Honey Smugglers. The price of admission includes the use of a wine glass and a tasting plate.
Foodlink is a hub for the Feeding America food bank and serves several communities in Central and Western New York. Feeding America has approximately 200 food banks throughout the United States.
In order to encourage people to attend this tasty fundraiser in Rochester, organizers sent out invitations on personalized stationery to people on their mailing list. Personalized stationery such as branded envelopes is more likely to be opened by recipients.
