What's Happening in Rochester, NY…

Rochesters military community invited to ride the rails

The Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum will soon be offering a salute to currently serving military personnel and veterans. They, along with the general public, are invited to hop aboard for a day of fun and learning, and some special guests will be along for the ride.

The museum has partnered with the Black Lions 2-28 Vietnam Living History Group to create an experience that will be both fun and educational. There will be live demonstrations, exhibits, and lots of activities at both ends of the route, and the departure point is located just outside of Rochester.

The participants on the day will be able to enjoy exhibits and living history demos, such as the demonstrations of the firing of historical weapons. Refreshments can be purchased, and the train will depart from the station every 30 minutes. Ticket holders can ride as often as they wish, and there is no charge for veterans, military members who are actively serving, and kids age four and under. Adult tickets are $12, while those for youth and seniors are $10.

The museum’s gift shop will be open for business during the event so that the attendees can stop by and purchase a souvenir of their visit. A printer can offer many promotional products that can be a great choice for this, and the institution's logo design can be incorporated in their design.

This special salute to the military community is set to be held on September 28 and 29. Those who are interested can book the departure time of their choice.
