Rochester workshops to combine clay, plants and sustainability

There can be something very relaxing and even therapeutic about having one’s hands in the soil or working with clay, and this is one of the driving forces behind a two part Rochester workshop.

The classes, which will focus combining the creative process with sustainability, will see members of the public craft their very own terra cotta planter and then use it as a home for a new plant they will be able to keep. The materials used, as well as the greenery, will be sustainably sourced, and while the participants work, they will be able to meet and get to know each other.

The first class will be dedicated to creating the pottery piece. An instructor will guide the students, and they will be welcome to customize it as much as they wish, The second part of the workshop will teach how to add and care for the plant. The skills taught can be used for just about any houseplant, and the goal is for all the students to walk away with an enhanced knowledge of plant care and a feeling of accomplishment.

A community based event like this can be a lot of fun for everyone who takes part. A flyer printing company will have lots of ideas when it comes to promoting it effectively to people in the local area.

The first class will be held on March 29th, and the second has been planned for April 12th. Rochester Brainery is hosting it.
