While many in the neurodivergent community may have received their diagnosis when they were young, others will not have had it until they were an adult, and a Rochester workshop will help those in medical or therapeutic settings provide them with compassionate care.
Brooke LaLone, LMFT, will be sharing her knowledge during an in-depth training session, and the registration fee is $100 each. It will focus on the four pillars of providing neurodiversity affirming care, and it will run for three and half hours.
The class will introduce the history of neurodiversity and how the movement has grown, and the diagnosis of ADHD and autism will both be on the agenda. The group will learn why these diagnoses have been on the rise, and there will be a discussion of the stigma that is often attached to them. Communication skills for working with neurodivergent clients will be addressed, and those who participate may qualify for continuing education hours.
Attending workshops and seminars is one way for a professional in a particular field to keep their knowledge current. Learning materials, promotional Pens, and other items for a class will all be available at a professional Print shop.
This opportunity for professionals who work with neurodivergent individuals to add to their skills set is scheduled for Friday, September 20, starting at 9:00 am. It will be on offer at 2300 East Avenue in Rochester.
