At the end of this month the Al SIGL Community of Agencies will be holding its annual WalkAbout.
The event will be a fundraiser to support AL SIGL’s six-member agencies that aid adults and children with special needs. The one-mile walking course will happen inside a local mall. Top individuals and teams will win prizes.
Those donating or raising support over $20 per individual and $40 per family will receive goodies. Some of these will include a T-shirt, raffle entry, and breakfast at the food court. Also included will be inclusion in the costume contest and kid-oriented Halloween activities. Live musical entertainment will also add to the Halloween spirit.
Some supporters may want to pledge money for the walkers. Others may want to come and join the walk. For those of us here in Rochester who want to spread the word, Flyers can be found online that can be printed out and mailed.
Although preregistration can be done online at the ALSIGL website, registration on the day of the event will begin at 8:30 am. It will be available right up to the start of the walk which will be at 9:30 am. The costume contest will begin at 10:30 am.
The event will be at Eastview Mall, 7979 Pittsford-Victor Road (Route 96), Victor on October 30 starting at 8:30 am.
