Rochester Scouts to work on bird study badge

Scouts from the Rochester area who would like to add a new badge to their collection will have an opportunity to do this while they learn about their feathered friends.

Lollypop Farm serves as a refuge for homeless, abused, and unwanted companion animals, and it also educates the public about issues related to pets as well as wildlife. It will be offering members of the Scouting program a chance to earn their bird study merit badge, and there are no prerequisites required.

Kids who take part will be learning about birds, their ecology, and how humans can lend them a helping hand. They will be taught how to identify at least 20 species, and will also prepare a bird feeding station and find out how many birds communicate with each other through their various calls. The session will be held outside, so everyone is asked to dress suitably for winter conditions.

Many kids are already interested in nature and the world around them, and they may welcome the chance to learn even more. Educational materials such as handouts, promotional pens paired with a species checklist, and other items for an event will be on offer at a local printing services source.

Lollypop Farm will be offering kids in the Scouting program an opportunity to complete their birds study merit badge on Saturday, January 6. The fun will begin at 10:00 am.
