Savvy gardeners know that springtime bed preparation is often key to successful vegetable growing, and the first classes in a series of organic gardening workshops will introduce the topic.
The springtime instalment of the Organic Growers School, which is being offered to Rochester residents, is set to take place online. It is the first in a series of three workshop groupings, and each will cover a different season in the growing schedule.
The classes will discuss how to prepare a bed so that it will be highly productive, and the attendees can learn about the different benefits of starting their own seeds or choosing transplants. Crops that can be grown and even harvested in the spring will be discussed, and a review of tools that can make home horticulture easier is on the agenda. Secrets of building a fertile planing medium will be shared, and the importance of being good soil stewards is on the syllabus as well.
Those who are interested will be able to register for just the spring classes or the whole series. Basic gardening guides can be crafted by local Print shops to distribute to those who sign up for this sort of function.
The dates for the springtime classes are the next two Mondays, March 29 and April 5. Those who live in Rochester can take part virtually, and the registration link can be found on the Morning Ag Clips website.
