Rochester festival set to make fermenting fun

Fermentation has been used for thousands of years to keep vegetables and fruit well preserved for the future, and a Rochester festival will celebrate these foods and all that goes into making them.

The Rochester FLX Fermentation festival will welcome foodies and others who are interested in a celebration that explores the art of fermenting food using both traditional and modern techniques. The organizers have created a two-day schedule of workshops, exhibits, entertainment, and other fun, and subject matter expert Cheryl Paswater will provide the keynote address.

Along with the workshops, the event will boast an extensive pop-up vendor fair where the attendees will be able to purchase ingredients and gear to help them get fermenting. They can also ask questions and gather advice, and the fermentation help desk and science corner will welcome the kids in the crowd. Admission is $5 each, and family passes may be purchased for $15.

Planning a large gathering like this may be made a lot easier thanks to assistance from area Print shops. They will be able to prepare a variety of high-quality materials according to each of its clients specifications and budget.

This novel addition to the line-up of summer festivals planned for Rochester will begin on August 14. The city’s Science Museum is set to be the host of the celebration.
