Rochester dads and kids will be able to discover the pastime of fishing as part of an upcoming event.
Spencerport will be the location for the Homesteads for Hope fishing derby, where prizes will be presented to the top fishers in several categories. Designed to be a Father’s Day celebration, it will be running throughout the morning, and those who arrive early will be able to secure the top spots.
The listing for the activity explained that the derby will be set up on the canal of the location, and the venue offers 100 linear feet of waterfront space. Prizes will be up for grabs, and they will be awarded for the heaviest fish, the longest fish, and also to the person who catches the most fish. The Farm Store and cafe will be open, and food may be purchased nearby so that everyone will be able to stay and enjoy the day.
The registration fee for this activity is $10 each, and this includes a dozen worms. Additional bait will be available as well. Customized award certificates for a function that include its Logo Design will be available for ordering at area printers.
The 2022 Father's Day Fishing Derby will be casting off on Sunday, June 19 starting at 10:00 am. It will be held at 2185 Manitou Road.
