The Rochester area will soon be showing some love to companion animals in need when it welcomes attendees for an event that will offer a barking good time.
The activity, which will serve as a fundraiser for Lollypop Farm, which is operated by the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
The plans for the day include lots of fun for all ages. There will be an assortment of games and other activities, and food vendors from the local area have been invited to take part. While they enjoy themselves, the attendees will be supporting the efforts of the Society, which works to help abused, abandoned and unwanted companion animals. A walk for the animals has been included in the schedule, and well behaved, leashed pets are welcome.
To make the biggest impact they can, the organizers of the day have asked those who plan on taking part in the walk to do some fundraising. To thank them for their support, the registrants will receive a T-shirt with a special graphic design that has been prepared just for the occasion.
The second annual Barktoberfest will be raising funds in support of Fido, Fluffy and the other charges of Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport on September 28th. Admission to the festivities will be free. It is scheduled to run from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.
