Prom redux on the way for Rochester
Lollypop Farm gives companion and farm animals who have endured abuse, neglect or that have been abandoned a second lease of life, and it depends upon the support of the public to perform its work. A group of Rochester women wants to help, and has made this organization the charity of choice for a special evening.
While their prom days may be long over, Roc Prom Rerun will offer its guests an evening that can take them back to their salad days. It will be a complete prom experience, including everything from sappy music to ‘spiked punch’, and the proceeds will be donated to the cause.
The organizers of the function remarked that last year, they were able to raise $8,500 for an area children's hospital, and are hoping that this year will be just as successful. There will be lots of dancing, a photo booth featuring cheesy prom-style backdrops and props, and small bites will be served. A selection of wine and other beverages will be on offer, and the guests are welcome to wear the prom attire of their choice.
This fundraiser is open to attendees who are age 21 and up, and Rochester businesses have been asked to consider making a monetary donation, or contributing corporate gifts or other gifts in kind to use as auction or raffle draw prizes.
This fundraiser for animals in need will be on February 1. It will be held at 120 East Avenue, and tickets are on sale now for $65.
