Classic run set to return for 2018
Rochester families are invited to join those lacing up their sneakers and hitting the pavement in the 35th Annual Turkey Classic.
The run, to be held in Pittsford, and it will be the last time it will follow its current route before switching to a new course in 2019. Both a five-mile race and one-mile walk/ fun run have been included in the plans for the day, and the organizers noted that more than 500 people are expected to participate.
The run will kick off at 9:00 am, while the fun run’s stat time will be 8:30 am. The terrain for both courses is nearly flat, and the five-mile option will be certified by the USATF and timed. Locker/shower facilities are available, and those who pre-register will be offered free child care should they need it. Once all of the runners have finished, there will be a big Thanksgiving style feast served.
Anyone who would like to pick up their race packet ahead of time will be welcome to do so, and these will be available at Pittsford’s Medved location. A printer can use graphic design techniques to craft t-shirts, race bibs, and a variety or promotional products for this sort of occasion.
This annual event will be taking place on November 18th at 111 East Jefferson Road in Pittsford. More details are available on the Visit Rochester website.
