The 117th annual Lilac Festival is taking in Rochester for 10 days next month. This popular event tends to attract approximately 500,000 visitors each year.
The event is filled with activities that will appeal to every member of the family and is a salute to lilac season. On the first day, those who show up will be asked to participate in ‘A passion for purple’. They will be given a lilac, green or pink poncho and asked to form a human lilac flower for inclusion into the Guinness Book of World Records.
During the two weekends of the festival, Art in the Park will be displaying juried arts and crafts. Visitors will be able to buy items such as handmade jewelry, ceramics, and paintings. They will also be able to purchase lilac-inspired perfumes, soaps, and event merchandise.
There is also set to be a parade on the second day of the festival, which is expected to feature more than 2,500 participants. Other events include a wine and chocolate tasting event for $15 per person, although attendees must be over the age of 21.
Organizers of this Rochester event may invest in banner printing services to highlight each section of the festival.
