The 47th annual Puerto Rican Festival is taking place over three days next month in Rochester. The theme of this year’s event is ‘La Evolucion de Nuestra Cultura/the evolution of our culture’.
The festival will have a variety of activities that will appeal to everyone in the family. There will be children’s rides and games, amateur boxing displays, and a variety of traditional Puerto Rican food. Musical entertainment will be provided by a number of artists including Bachata Heights, Ismael Miranda, and Charlie Aponte.
In addition to musical entertainment, there will also be demonstrations of traditional dance and other cultural activities.
Vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts and retail merchandise, or provide information about their products. There is also set to be an Agency Fair, which will feature nonprofit community organizations looking for volunteers or providing information about their programs and services.
This event is quite popular in Rochester and usually attracts about 20,000 visitors. To spread the word, organizers might invest in Flyers to be distributed throughout the city.
The Puerto Rican Festival will be held at Frontier Field from August 5 to 7. Admission is $10 per day, $25 for the weekend, and $50 for VIP. To find out more about planned activities over the three days, or to become a volunteer, call 585-234-7660.
