The 2nd annual Fiber Faire is taking place next month, presented by the Weavers’ Guild of Rochester.
The fair will be a showcase of the work that members of the Weavers’ Guild have produced. It will also feature many hands-on demonstrations of weaving and various fiber techniques such as knitting and paper making.
Plenty of information will be provided to the public about the workshops and classes they can sign up for. In addition, there will be door prizes to be won. This is also chance for people who have been studying at the Weaving and Fiber Arts Center to show off their skills to the public.
The Weavers’ Guild of Rochester provides classes and workshops on techniques such as needle felting and painting with fiber. It also offers members a library so they can learn new skills and study groups., and another big part of what the Guild does is public outreach to schools and community centers.
This event may appeal to those in and around Rochester who have training in graphic design, perhaps inspiring them in their own work.
The Fiber Faire will be held at the Weaving and Fiber Arts Center on May 1 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and is free to attend. Call 585-377-2955 for more information about the fair or the Weavers’ Guild of Rochester.
