A conference covering art therapy with children will be held by the Division of Professional and Fine Arts of the Graduate School of the College of New Rochelle early this month.
The focus of the conference will be art therapy as a way to treat children early in their diagnoses of pathologies and diseases. Chair of the Division of Professional & Fine Arts and Professor in the Graduate School at The College of New Rochelle, Dr. Patricia St John, said that the goal of the conference is to focus on early intervention, as children are the future of society.
Dr. Judith Aron Rubin will be the keynote speaker and her address will cover the history of child therapy, look at the various treatments in place today, and identify the potential future of art therapy and the challenges it will face.
After the keynote, there will be panel discussions, lunch, and breakout sessions, with a cocktail reception ending the day. Among the topics of the workshops will be school-based art therapy, the role of the superhero in the art of children with trauma, and phototherapy with children.
The conference will be held this Saturday, April 8, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The college might benefit from the assistance of a local printing company to promote the conference with Banners posted on campus and in the surrounding community.Get a Free Quote for Banners
