Media professor from college in New Rochelle recognized

The Wunderkind Award of 914INC. Magazine has been given to Giuseppe D’Aloisio, director of Digital Technology and Learning and professor in the Media and Strategic Communication Department of Iona University in New Rochelle.

His work integrating industry practices, state-of-the-art tools, and experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for careers in a media landscape that is rapidly evolving was recognized by the magazine. His guidance has enabled students from Iona to achieve national recognition, and his mentorship has helped to expand opportunities in digital content creation and broadcasting and foster award-winning student work.

His strong network has connected students with job placements and top-tier internships. The magazine highlighted how D’Aloisio leverages his professional network top connect students with opportunities at such organizations as NBC Sports, YES Network, NBC, and ESPN.

In April, Iona unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art new media center that will bring together its strong television, podcasting, radio, drone, virtual reality, and esports programs into one dynamic, collaborative hub at the heart of campus. The new media center will include production control rooms, a streaming radio station, a podcast studio, and an augmented and virtual reality studio, among other features.
