The Library Journal Design Institute has selected the New Rochelle Public Library (NRPL) as a featured case study.
The Library Design Institute is a professional development event that is held every year and is hosted by the Library Journal. It brings together designers, architects, and librarians to solve real-world challenges related to facilities.
Executive Director of the New Rochelle Public Library, Eugenia Schatoff, said that this is a meaningful and exciting recognition of the work in which the library is engaged as part of its process of master facility planning and will be an ideal way to end National Library Week.
The project which the NRPL is undertaking will be highlighted at the event for a national audience of design professionals, architects, and library leaders. Experienced architects will also be working with the library to explore their challenges, opportunities, and goals in greater depth. Consequently, the library will be afforded additional creative thinking and professional insight as it continues to create a vision for the future of the library.
Voter approval is being sought for a bond of $55 million to completely renovate the library building. Residents of New Rochelle can receive further information about such projects and events with flyer printing.
The event this year will be held on Tuesday May 19 in Washington, D.C. at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library.
