The selection of colleges was based in part on a survey of 172,000 students across the country which provided insights into extracurricular activities, clubs, the culture of the campus, professors, and academics in addition to surveys from college administrators and institutional data. Only about 14 percent of the 2,800 four-year colleges in the country are recognized on this list.
The goal of The Princeton Review is to offer valuable guidance for students as they look for a school that best fits their academic and social needs. The schools in The Princeton Review are not ranked in a hierarchical manner.
