New Rochelle offers app to connect with residents

A new app and web portal called “Mobile NR” has been launched by the city of New Rochelle.

This app is designed to enable residents to connect with the services provided by the city 24 hours a day. The app is free and available on Android and Apple devices. It allows users to report issues that are not emergencies, engage seamlessly with local government, and access city information.

With the app, residents can find locations on a map, upload photos, and submit requests that are not emergencies or quality-of-life concerns. The office of the city manager receives all requests and then forwards them to the appropriate department. Issues are then addressed in real time.

There are many convenient features in the app such as information on city parks, a calendar of events for the city, details on municipal parking, options to pay for parking tickets online or sign up for city alerts.

Local Print shops can inform residents of such apps with Flyers, mailers, and other printed materials.

Wilfredo Melendez, city manager, said that this new app is part of the continuing commitment to creating and maintaining a transparent and responsive government and improving the quality of life in the city. Melendez added that this technology will build a more connected and stronger community and enable residents to be more engaged and informed.
