Iona College in New Rochelle now has a new modern space at the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This is space enclosed in glass, which is an addition to Spellman Hall with a view to serving the growing Institute.
Poster printing is often used around such colleges to make such spaces known to the campus and surrounding community.
President of the Entrepreneurship Club, Lisbeth Baez, class of 2020 and a management major with a minor in entrepreneurship, said that the new space will support the mission of the Institute to bring numerous opportunities to campus and to inspire and motivate students to develop entrepreneurial solutions that will have a positive impact both locally and internationally.
Founding program director and endowed professor, Christoph Winkler, Ph.D., added that as this space is at the center of the campus, it reflects that the students are always the heart of the programs at the college. This space will provide improved opportunities for engaging with more students to help them progress towards a successful future.
Founded in 2017 with a gift from James ’69, ’01H and Anne Marie Hynes, of $15m, the Hynes Institute offers a graduate certificate and an academic minor in innovation and entrepreneurship; provides access to a community incubator, support and mentorship, and start-up funding for businesses; and opportunities to work with Hynes’ visiting entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs-in-residence, alumni, and faculty fellows.
