A grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation $500,000 has been awarded to Iona College in New Rochelle for a new and innovative training program that will assist in improving and expanding access to high-quality health services in the most vulnerable communities in New York.
The college has developed the Iona Interprofessional Education pilot program that will be designed to prepare those who have a direct impact on the communities and individuals they serve. Included among those who will be trained in this program are those looking to become marriage and family therapists, school psychologists, speech pathologists, and social workers.
The curriculum in the program will focus on entrepreneurship, equity, and service and will strengthen and expand the college’s reputation for preparing students with extensive training in empathy, problem solving, and innovative thinking thereby directly helping to improve the health services for those who need them the most. Poster printing can be valuable for promoting such programs to interested students throughout the community.
Chief executive officer of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, Msgr. Gregory Mustaciuolo, said that this grant honors the legacy of Mother Cabrini and will help to strengthen the health and well-being of diverse communities and bridge the gaps in health services. A nonprofit organization, the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation has as its mission to improve the health and well-being of the most vulnerable in New York State.
