There will be two new majors offered at Iona College in New Rochelle this fall.
Upon completing these programs, students will receive either a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship or a Bachelor of Arts in Entrepreneurial Leadership from the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. These are the first two majors of the Institute.
These new programs will place an emphasis on social entrepreneurship and encourage students to pursue double majors which would link other majors with entrepreneurial leadership or entrepreneurship. Students will be encouraged to develop an entrepreneurial mindset in the beginning of their first year in either of the programs. New printed materials are often needed to announce such programs requiring the use of printing services.
Endowed professor and founding program director of the Hynes Institute, Christoph Winkler, Ph.D., said that these interdisciplinary programs are ideal for the current times. He added that students will be inspired to be innovative thinkers who can become leaders regardless of their specialty.
James P. Hynes ’69, ’01H and Anne Marie Hynes, who donated $15m to the college to establish the Institute in 2017, said that having an entrepreneurial mindset can be valuable for any vocation or career and will enable students at the college to be able to improve their own lives and those of others in the community.
