Massapequa supports cancer fundraiser
The Andrew C. DeMarco Foundation will host its third annual Zumba fundraiser this March in Massapequa.
The event will raise awareness and funds for angiosarcoma research. It will also honor Andrew DeMarco’s battle with cardiac angiosarcoma and aims to support those impacted by the disease.
Features of the event include dance sessions that will be led by skilled instructors, a live DJ, and raffle opportunities.
Organizers state that angiosarcoma is an aggressive and rare soft tissue cancer affecting approximately one in a million individuals in the U.S. annually. The Plainedge Federation of Teachers and Liz Lewis will provide the venue for the event, while Melanie Goldberg and a team of instructors will contribute their time and expertise.
Individuals interested in donating raffle baskets or providing additional support should get in touch with Melanie Goldberg via email.
Tickets to the event cost $20 and can be purchased through the Eventbrite listing. Free parking will be available and the event is open to individuals of all ages.
Attendees should note that there are no refunds available for this event.
Flyer printing may be used by organizers to make the community aware of fundraisers such as this one.
The date and time of the event will be Saturday, March 1st from 1 pm to 3 pm at Plainedge High School, 241 Wyngate Dr, Massapequa, New York.
