The 31st Annual Massapequa Park Mile is set to return this fall, welcoming runners of all levels to participate in a community tradition that blends competition, celebration, and support for local youth athletes.
Sanctioned by USATF Long Island, the one-mile road race is part of the USATF-LI Grand Prix and counts toward individual and team scoring for members.
Athletes will race along a certified course that begins on Lake Shore Drive and ends on Park Boulevard. Participants are qualified for awards across a wide range of age groups, and a $100 bonus is up for grabs for any runner who breaks the current course records.
Those who register by September 4th will receive a race shirt, with personalized bibs available to early signups. Entry fees vary based on age and membership, with discounts for youth and Massapequa Road Runners club members. Proceeds support a scholarship fund benefiting student track athletes at Massapequa High School.
The event strictly prohibits baby joggers, pets, bicycles, and skates along the route. Bibs and shirts will be available for pickup on race morning starting at 7:30 am.
Hosts of events such as this one may want to get the word out beyond the local community. To do this, they may use poster printing.
The race will take place Sunday, October 5th, starting with the women’s heat at 9 am and the men’s heat at 9:30 am, followed by the Kids Fun Run at the Massapequa Funeral Home parking area, 1050 Park Boulevard, Massapequa Park, New York.
