Massapequa Park residents can participate in a multiweek adult health and wellness class at the Bar Harbour Auditorium starting in the new year.
The program will be led by instructor Deb Monaco and will focus on general exercise routines suitable for adults seeking to maintain and improve physical fitness. Participants are advised to consult with their physicians before attending any class, as all exercise activities carry some risk of injury.
Registration is required for the series and it opens on Tuesday, January 6 at 9:30 am. Online registration and walk-ins will be accommodated for residents of the Massapequa School District. Non-residents may register beginning January 9. Attendees registering for this session will automatically be enrolled in all scheduled dates, which are January 14 and 21, and February 4, 11, and 18.
The event venue is part of the Massapequa Public Library system, which has served the community since its founding in 1952. The original library opened in a small storefront on Broadway in 1953. Subsequent donations of land and the construction of new buildings on Central Avenue and Bar Harbour have supported expanded services and renovations, including updates in 1999 and 2001. The library remains a central hub for educational and community programs.
Print shops may be used to create personalized materials, such as signage, to advertise programs such as this one.
The first session will be on Wednesday, January 14 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the Bar Harbour Auditorium, 40 Harbour Lane, Massapequa Park.
