Massapequa Park goes trotting Thanksgiving weekend
Residents will gather for the Massapequa Park Turkey Trot 2024 this November.
The event will benefit the YES Community Counseling Center. The center offers a variety of services to families and individuals across Nassau County, including outpatient drug abuse treatment, family counseling, and support for those facing trauma, domestic violence, and mental health challenges.
This annual race is held the weekend before Thanksgiving and is family-friendly. It offers participants a chance to race on a flat course and win a pie if they top their age group.
The 5K run or walk will take participants through a scenic route, starting on the road and transitioning into the paved bike path of the Massapequa Preserve. In addition to the 5K, a youth fun run will take place, allowing younger participants to race a ¾-mile distance around the Brady Park lake. Participants who register by November 13 are assured a commemorative race shirt.
Individuals can get bib pickup and ticket pricing information by visiting the event listing. Participants should note that they must wear their bibs on their chest or stomach to ensure easy identification for race photographers.
