Massapequa Park to host memory walk
The Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center will host its annual Memory Walk & Spring Festival this June in Massapequa Park.
The event aims to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research and support programs for individuals affected by dementia.
Participants will begin the day with signup and breakfast, followed by an opening ceremony before the walk begins. The one-mile course will be surrounded by activities such as a barbecue lunch, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Those who raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative T-shirt, while all attendees will receive an event tote bag filled with goodies.
The event is open to all ages. Adults and youth aged 13 and older, as well as children aged 12 and younger, will start their walks at 8:30 am.
The event is being organized by Let’s Do This, and for additional information or to register, attendees can visit the event’s listing online. Children can participate for free, while the cost for adults and youth is $33.63 plus fees. The cost to participate in the virtual race is $23.63.
Poster printing may be utilized by organizers to inform neighborhood members about events such as this one.
