Unique science and sustainability event to come to Manhasset

Sciencestock will be coming to the Science Museum of Long Island in Manhasset next month.

This event is inspired by Woodstock and is a unique blend of science, nature, live music, and sustainability with a series of activities for all members of the family that demonstrate how sustainability and science can be interesting and exciting and will show how large festivals of outdoor music can be responsible for the environment.

Among the live performances will be Half Step, Jah Stix, and Potato Phoenix in addition to the Street Beat Bass Band Parade and the Late Show Choir Gospel.

Featured at Sciencestock will also be several immersive activities. These will include musical story-time in the preserve, a campfire drum circle, a seed bomb building workshop, self-guided scavenger hunts, a pollinator release, shelter building, and tuning into the electromagnetic field of plants using state-of-the-art technology.

Beer and cider will be served by Barrier Island Brewery. There will also be a wide range of food trucks. Various local conservation groups will be on hand to offer information about their endeavors. Such is an ideal opportunity for local Print shops to help with creating Flyers and Brochures with more information about such efforts.

Ticket prices are $25 per person with $5.00 off for Junior Scientist members, and $10 for STEAM Members. This event will be from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday June 8.
