The Northwinds Symphonic Band will be performing at the Black Box Theatre at the Sands Point Preserve in Sands Point next month.
The concert is titled “Broadway, Movies and Light Classics.” Residents of nearby Manhasset who are interested in such music may want to attend.
A program of vocal and instrumental selections from popular Broadway shows and movies has been designed by conductors Brandon Bromsey and Helen Bauer. There will also be classics by such composers as George Gershwin, Leroy Anderson, and Johann Strauss.
The program will include music from The Producers, The Sound of Music, and South Pacific, as well as from the film composer John Williams. Other highlights of the program will include Parade Day in New Orleans by Raymond Osnato and a recreation of Thunder and Lightning from Riverdance by the percussion section. Musicians from Northwinds will be performing spot solos.
Local Print shops can play a role in such concerts by printing programs with more details about the pieces to be performed, the musicians, and the soloists.
This concert is designed for the entire family. All members of the audience will be able to meet the musicians after the concert and learn more about their instruments. Tickets are $10 per person and will be available the day of the performance in the Welcome Center.
The concert will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 9.Get a Free Quote for Print
