The Art Guild of Port Washington, Inc. in Manhasset will be hosting a College Portfolio Prep workshop with Linda Haase Kane next month, which may interest any young locals hoping for a career in art and graphic design.
This workshop is for those in grades 10 through 12, and those looking to apply to a specialized visual arts college. It will be an immersive class in which Kane will help students develop a high-quality and unique art portfolio.
Kane will also provide one-on-one education so that the projects students create will be customized to fit their needs, highlight their abilities and strengths, and enable them to stand out. Among the topics covered in the workshop will be developing ideas, using new materials, and creating and solidifying the artwork that will become part of their portfolio.
The Art Guild will also provide open studio hours so students will have a place to work on their pieces. This workshop is for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who will be applying to art schools, in addition to those in Advanced Placement Design and Art classes who need to submit portfolios.
The tuition for this workshop is $785 and it will take place at the Art Guild of Port Washington, Inc. on Port Washington Boulevard in Manhasset. It will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday evenings from October 16 through December 18.
