New apartment building to come to Manhasset area

Gesher Center LLC has been approved by the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) to build an apartment building in Great Neck.

This may be of interest to those who work in Manhasset, especially if they are looking for a residence in the region closer to their employment.

This building will span 88,000 square feet and reach four stories tall. The company plans to invest $20.5m in the project, which will create 39 jobs during the construction phase and four full-time jobs within three years of its completion. Such positions may require business card printing services.

There will be 60 units in the building. Featured amenities will include a library, gym, storage space, and parking for 93 cars. There will be an art gallery covering just over 4,000 square feet on the first floor. Of the 60 units, nine will be designated as affordable housing.

William Rockensies, Chairman of the Nassau IDA, said that the IDA is always looking for ideas on how it can expand the ability of Nassau County to provide more housing options for both current and future residents. He added that this is a special project in that it allows people of all backgrounds to find housing in line with their financial needs. He expressed his excitement about starting this project and seeing it develop into an exceptional residential community.
