Manhasset robotics team invited to worldwide competition

Team 24842, a robotics club from the Manhasset Public Schools, will be at the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas next week representing Long Island.

Team 24842 was founded by eight sophomores from Manhasset and is an independent VEX Robotics organization. As a standalone team, they are looking for donations to send them to Dallas so that they can compete.

Such teams can turn to local Print shops to help them spread the word about competitions like these and their fundraising efforts.

The team has won many accolades at both the state and regional levels, although it lacks many of the resources and mentorship that many of their competitors have. Among their achievements are two-times the Judges Award, two-times a qualifier for the New York State Championship, and a one-time qualifier for the World Championship.

The REC Foundation and the Northrop Grumman Foundation are presenters of the VEX Robotics World Championship. Additional sponsors include Texas Instruments, Tesla, Amazon, and MathWorks. This is an annual event that brings together VEX U, VEX IQ Robotics Competition, and VEX Robotics Competition teams from around the world to participate in the games, celebrate their accomplishments, and be crowned champions.

The VEX Robotics World Championship be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, and will run from Wednesday, April 24 through Friday, May 3.
