Bistro Café North is now open at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.
The café is next to the lobby and is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm on weekends, and 24 hours a day during the week. The executive vice president of Lessing’s Food Service Management, which manages the café, Kevin Lessing, said that the goal is to offer staff and guests to the hospital options that are typically not found in the cafeteria.
One new option is a coffee bar offering employees a wide range of choices when it comes to coffee, from cappuccino to cold brew, and regular. A local roaster delivers beans every week and two baristas are on hand to prepare coffee drinks.
There is also a large cooler with many grab-and-go items, such as salads, fruits cups, parfaits, pudding, and other treats. The salad options change on a weekly basis and all food is prepared off-site. Hot entrees are also custom made to order and include such items as short ribs with broccolini and potatoes, or salmon and asparagus with rice. There is a self-serve bakery case with baked goods such as cookies, cakes, and 20 to 30 pastries. These are produced on site and rotated as the week goes on.
Such new cafes often turn to flyer printing services to promote their many new features and items.
Guests can order their food online and participate in a loyalty program.
