Caring for a loved one at home can be a loving act, but it can come with its own set of difficulties, many of which will be addressed as part of an evening seminar planned for the Manhasset area.
The Family Caregiver Bootcamp will be filled with information, tips and advice that can be helpful for someone who is a caregiver for a family member, or who has a home attendant doing so in their home. The organizers noted that the goal is to give the participants the confidence to know they are doing a good job and also to make choices as challenges arise.
A variety of topics are on the agenda for discussion, and these will include a review of medical equipment and procedures, skincare for someone who is ill, nutrition and also transferring. Space is available for five students, and as it will be taking place in a private residence, the exact location will be disclosed upon registration.
Host Michele Allen is a registered nurse with more than 10 years of experience, and much of this has been in the field of home healthcare. Print shops can provide printed teaching aids and other materials for this type of function.
The registration fee for this learning opportunity is $149 each. It has been planned for June 1, and two alternate dates are also available.
