Local families prepare for fall festival

Just as the autumn months begin, Local Luxuries will present a Saturday packed with action.

Later this month, the 20th annual Rolling River Fall Festival will commence. Rolling River is known for hosting community festivals for families to attend, and since the media has continued to feature these events in a positive way, the public is expected to once again show up and enjoy the many fun-filled family-friendly activities.

For the active kids that cannot stand still for long, there will be bounce houses, rides, playgrounds, slides, and gymnastics. For the appearance conscious kids who love to be the center of attention, there will be face painting and airbrush or glitter tattoos. In light of the season, there will be activities like pumpkin picking, flower sales, and hayrides. For those who like to be entertained, there will be several performances by dance troops, music clubs, and theater companies. Vendors will be on site selling crafts, and might benefit from Business Cards that would further promote their wares.

Sponsors will be giving away prizes and there will also be raffling for prizes. Food and refreshments will be available at a food tent.

All of the action will occur on October 15, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm, at the Rolling River Day Camp in Oceanside, just 15 miles south of Manhasset.
